Phantom and Rocker were 2 of the 3 members of the Stray Cats. They were pioneers in the Rock-a-billy music genre. After the Stray Cats broke up, they joined up with a dude named Slick to form Phantom, Rocker & Slick. They made two albums, released two singles and had mild success with them, but perhaps not enough to continue with it. Phantom and Rocker rejoined Brian Setzer in a Stray Cats reunion. Phantom, Rocker & Slick’s hidden gem, to me, is their song ‘Runnin’ from the Hounds’ from their self-titled first album released in 1985. It’s a solid rock and roll/rock-a-billy song that has lasting power these 25 years later. Love the bluesy rock guitar, and … their threads were stylin’!
