This song has played at my work for years, and it’s always been a welcome quiet, melodic break that cuts through the craze of the day whenever it comes on. Yesterday, I finally got around to looking it up, and I may have found a new favorite band in the process.
“Deep in Love” comes from the folk band Bonny Light Horseman, whose members hail from groups like The Shins and The National. The song has some really lovely guitars and harmonies, and the lyrics are simple but powerful. Eric D. Johnson’s voice, which has the most unique and breathtaking tone, makes it a masterpiece.
Check it out. You’ll be glad you did.
