In order to once again own all of her recently sold albums, Taylor Swift has been re-recording her old work. Most recently, she has re-released her fourth album, now known as Red (Taylor’s Version). With each re-release, Swift includes never-before-heard tracks “From the Vault” that were originally meant to be on the original albums. For Red (Taylor’s Version), that includes the raucously fun country track featuring Chris Stapleton, “I Bet You Think About Me.”
The instrumentals are great, and Stapleton’s voice blends nicely with Swift’s without taking over the song. The harmonica is one of my favorite parts; it gives a nice bluesy effect and makes the song unique. The lyrics tell a story about lost love, but more than that, they remind us that the so-called sophisticated are never having as much fun as those who don’t care what anyone thinks.
As for the music video, which serves as Blake Lively’s directorial debut, it is funny, visually stunning, and really brings the song to life in such a fun way. It’s definitely worth watching!
